Bull elk in morning's first light (September)

We spotted this young bull elk in "velvet" in     Cedar Creek in June

In the fall the sound of the elk bugle makes it    worth the hike

This October hike was rewarded with a bull elk      in full sunlight

We spotted this newborn baby elk, also known as  a calf, on a June hike

A small herd of cows and calves have spotted their visitors in the August morning light

In the height of mating season the bull elk is very vocal

During the mating season the bull elk bugles and "rakes" the foliage with his antlers to attract the female

On a late August hike we walked upon this bull who was so surprised to see us he froze in place with grass still in his mouth!
